FEB 2025 NEW PAPER: Mapping the molluscan brain used synchrotron X-ray tomography (PNAS)

We used the Diamond synchrotron facility to X-ray image the molluscan brain, constructing a detailed 3D atlas of the feeding circuit. This guided identification and functional characterization of novel cell types in the network with important function. Our approach readily generalizes to CNS atlas-building in other model organisms enabling the interrogation and sharing of brain structures across research groups for comparative and functional studies.
